The Isabela Coastal Mission District (ICMD), the most remote District of the Baguio Episcopal Area, in partnership with the Isabela North District (IsND), organized dynamic weeklong events on July 8-15, 2024. The activities were focused on spiritual growth and community bonding. This gathering united youth and church leaders from various areas, featuring devotions, classes, and fellowship activities that deeply impacted all participants.
The week commenced with a lively Welcome Night hosted by the Isabela Coastal Mission District, symbolizing unity and the start of an enriching journey for all attendees.
Day 2: Morning Devotion, SCYD Classes, and Evangelism Explosion Training
The second day started with a morning devotion led by Pastor Mary Flor Cariño, setting a spiritual tone for the day. School for Christian Youth Development (SCYD) classes began with the Program Director Rev. Jean Gutierrez and instructors guiding 20 junior, 14 middler, and two senior students.
Evangelism Explosion Training was also launched, led by Rev. Alexander Pablo, Pastor Alexander Nacino, Rev. Robino Albino, and Rev. Ike Pama, with 18 participants engaging in this transformative experience.
A Welcome Night for juniors filled the evening with enjoyable and meaningful interactions.
Day 3: Devotion and Fellowship, SCYD Classes, and Evangelism Explosion Training
The third day commenced with a morning devotion by Pastor Carlo Vicente, followed by SCYD classes throughout the day. The day concluded with a Fellowship Night, fostering camaraderie and reflection among the youth.
Day 4: Devotion, VCS Training, and Continued Learning
The fourth day is another day filled with learning. Pastor Vicente and Pastor Renely Peralta introduced the Vacation Church School (VCS) theme and new songs to the participants.
Day 5: Devotion, Youth Empowerment, Cultural Night, SCYD Class
The SCYD classes and VCS sessions continued with a focus on youth empowerment. The evening featured a Cultural Night where the youth showcased their talents and creativity. The Evangelism Explosion Training graduation ceremony also took place during the day.
Day 6: SCYD and VCS Culmination
The sixth day marked the culmination of the SCYD and VCS programs with closing worship. Two graduates, Krizthel Joy Sogelio and Cielo Mae Centeno, were honored, both affirming their calling to enter the Deaconess Service. Krizthel Joy was endorsed during the most recent Annual Conference to study at Harris Memorial College in the coming school year, while Cielo is set to enter Grade 12. The culmination recognized 14 middler and 20 junior students, with a total of 36 SCYDians and VCS teachers.
Day 7: Sunday Worship
On the last day, Rev. Valentina Rasdas, Rev. Gutierrez, and Pastor Peralta led worship services at Dicambangan, Dicatian, and Dibulos Worshiping Congregations, respectively.
The week was a testament to the power of community, faith, and youth empowerment in the Isabela Coastal Mission District.
