On August 16, 2024, Baguio City First United Methodist Church’s (BCFUMC) HOTSPOT celebrated its 9th anniversary. Originating in 2015 within the confines of the Christian Mission Center Building’s kitchen, this weekly gathering occurs every Friday, uniting students and residents particularly the young people from across the City to offer spiritual support and community through church services, ministries, inspirational messages, and worship sessions. Over nearly a decade, Hotspot has evolved into a vital sanctuary for numerous young individuals in search of guidance, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging.
Themed “New Wine” for this year’s anniversary, Pastor Wey Meneses, the keynote speaker, underscored the concept as a metaphor for personal transformation, emphasizing the belief in becoming “new creations” in Christ. His words resonated deeply with attendees, urging them to embrace personal growth and change as they navigate their spiritual paths within the Hotspot community.
This milestone event highlighted Hotspot’s ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive environment for students and working individuals, helping them navigate life’s challenges with hope and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. As Hotspot moves into its tenth year, the program remains dedicated to its mission of uplifting and empowering the youth and those seeking a home away from home.
To our Lord Jesus Christ be all the glory!
