The Baguio Episcopal Area – Communications held a four-day Creative Communicators Training in Baguio City from August 5-8, 2024. The training was designed to enhance creativity in online content creation using tools such as Canva and Lightroom. The 20 participants from the nine Annual Conferences were trained in broadcasting tools for live streaming, including Streamyard, OBS, and Zoom. The training included instructions on writing clear and concise news articles for social media and websites, creative critical thinking, hands-on experience with photo and video equipment, and training in photo and video editing. Communications and IT best practices were shared. A lecture emphasizing power, quality, and accountability in communication ministry was also discussed.

The official first day commenced with an Opening Devotion led by Rev. Enrico Loresco. In the afternoon, Mr. Kier Ocampo, Communications Director, delved into the mission, vision, goals, roles, and responsibilities pertinent to Christian Communicators, directing their focus toward being a responsible leader in the Communications Ministries. Furthermore, Mr. Matthan Bang-asan shared insights on various broadcasting tools like OBS, Streamyard, and Zoom.

The second day began with an impactful message from Pastor Mike Paul Cual on speaking the truth, standing with distinction, sacrificing, and surrendering lives for a greater purpose. Dr. Gladys Mangiduyos later inspired creativity among the communicators, exploring conventional avenues such as singing, dancing, rapping, and storytelling. Emphasizing the significance of critical thinking for both individuals and Church communicators, Dr. Mangiduyos encouraged innovative learning.

The whole afternoon session was led by G-Productions, especially Mr. Robie Pamintuan, and Mr. Edgar Macdon Jr., who passionately trained the delegates about Photography and Editing 101, with hands-on experience on their quality equipment.

On the third day, a touching morning devotion by Pastor Renely Peralta urged everyone to embrace their calling and ignite the gift of God for His glory. The morning sessions featured Mr. Nyl Guillermo from G-Productions, who highlighted the importance of Pre-production Creatives in storytelling, and Mr. Julius Juan, also from G-Productions, shared expertise in Videography and Video Editing, which are very needed in this age of social media.

As the trainees jumped in on the fourth day, Mr. Kier Ocampo concluded the training with a comprehensive lecture on power, accountability, quality, and the holistic role of communicators. He provided valuable guidance on enhancing communication skills and becoming an effective communicator.

The training culminated in a solemn consecration service led by Rev. Roel ‘Wey’ Meneses, Associate Pastor of Baguio City First United Methodist Church, who delivered a heartfelt message and offered blessings to all communicators. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and tokens of appreciation to all participants and facilitators, underscoring the grace of God and attributing all glory to Him.
